AMATEUR CYCLING TITLE
The Xew Zealand amateur 100-mile road cycling championship held in Auckland on Saturday resulted :—T. R. Carter (Wellington), 1; A. W. Stonex (Auckland), 2; V. A. Hill (Auckland), 3; J. Stevens (Auckland), 4 Time, 4hr 59min 2-lsec.
Yesterday was a unique occasion for the Anglican and the Greek Orthodox Churches in New Zealand. The Very Reverend Chrysostom Boygazolu, Archimandrite of the Orthodox Church in New Zealand, accompanied by a Greek choir, joined with the vicar (the Rev. E. M. McLevie) and parishioners of St. Barnabas' Church, Roseneath, in solemn evensong. The church was crowded. Afterwards the Archimandrite officially opened a religious exhibition in the Parish Hall. He was welcomed by the parishioners' churchwarden, Mr. F. G. Thomson, and Mr. T. Broughton, vicar's churchwarden, thanked the visitors for coming. During the evening her Excellency Lady Newall visited the exhibition, and, expressing her pleasure at being present, wished the exhibition every success. She was accompanied by Miss N. .Walton. The exhibition will be open daily throughout the week.
