FINE TROUT FROM HUTT RIVER
Fishing with minnow in the Hutt River between the Lower Hutt Bridge and the Pipe Bridge on Thursday morning, two anglers landed one of the heaviest average bags recorded on the river in recent years. It consisted of 12 trout, the heaviest 101b, the next 7£lb, and the lightest 41b. On Thursday evening another angler landed a 7£lb trout, also in the lower reaches. Most of these fish were sea-run, states Mr. P. W. Wilson, the Wellington Acclimatisation Society's ranger.
