VICTORY BAND WEEK

At' the last executive meeting of the Wellington Bands' Association it was stated that Mr. R. J. Estall, conductor of the Woolston Brass Band, Christchurch, had accepted the executive's invitation to adjudicate at the junior solo and senior quartet contests during Victory Band Week, December 2to December 9. Mr. Estall is one of the Dominion's most distinguished band conductors and his visit to Wellington will invest band week with special interest. At the same meeting, the City of Wellington Highland Pipe Band was admitted to membership of the association and the band's secretary. Mr. W. A. Blair, was appointed to a vacancy on the executive caused by the resignaiton of Mr. J. C. King. The association now comprises eighteen brass, pipe, and military bands.
