"OPERATION STORK"

Children Leave Berlin Rec' 11 a.m. LONDON, Oct. 26. A "convoy of 50 buses moved out of Berlin westward today in "Operation Stork," carrying 2000 children aged from four to 14, reports the Exchange Telegraph's Berlin correspondent. The children were the first contingent of the 50,000 which it is planned to move out of the city to the country districts in the British zone. Participation in the evacuation scheme, which is designed to give the children a, better chance of health, is voluntary. Ten thousand applications have so far been received.
