QUESTION IN HOUSE

Was it a fact that there had been a regent ruling of the Price Tribunal that all goods on order and undelivered as on July 1 last were subject to an ad-, vance of 5 per cent.? asked Mr. W. H. Gillespie (National, Hurunui) in a notice of question to the Minister of Supply (Mr. Sullivan) in the House of Representatives today. Mr. Gillespie also inquired whether "that was, as alleged, due to the fact, that by a recent Arbitration Court award all wages were increased by 6 per cent, from April 1, 1945. He wanted to know whether the increase would not be an unwarranted penalty on the consumers.
