Mr. Attlee Accepts King's Invitation
Eec. noon. ■ " BUGBY, July 26. Mr. Churchill drove to Buckingham Palace this eveningl, and, in audience vrith the King', tendered his resignation as Prime Minister, First Lord of the Treasury, and Minister of Defence, which the King" accepted. : 'A small crowd saw Mr. Churchill arrive smoking a cigar, and alone in his car. He gave them his familiar V'sign as he drove in. Mr. Attlee arrived at the Palace half an hour after Mr. Churchill and was invited by the King to form a Goyernment. Mi\ Attlee accepted the invitation! .
