CANBERRA, July 26 The King has awarded the Victoria Cross to Corporal Reginald Roy Rattey of Barmedman, New South. Wales..The award was made for "most conspicuous bravery" on south Bougainville on March 3, when, single-handed arid firing his, Bren gun from the hip, he rushed several times into heavy enemy fire and silenced Japaneso'ya'u torn atic weapons in a stronglj*.-held enemy position which was-hording up i^he advance of his company. / .
