POST-WAR ACTIVITIES
When commending the work of the New Zealand Junior Red Cross and the Dominion V.A.D. Councils at the annual meeting of the Dominion executive of the New Zealand Red Cross Society in Wellington yesterday, Miss M. I. Lambie, Director of- the Division of Nursing, stated that the activities of the young women working under those organisations would not terminate when the war was finished. "There will be a full field of activity in the future for the Voluntary Aids," said Miss Lambie. "Their work will certainly not end with the war. There will be. tremendous need ot them, especially in the health camps." Some of the health camps, the speaker indicated, would be permanent throughout the year for the treatment of children. Another activity would be in the homes for blinded servicemen. "And we still need a great deal of help in our civil hospitals," said Miss Lambie when dealing with staff problems. Referring to the Junior Red Cross asone of the most progressive movements in the country, Miss Lambie said that, as a result of her recent visit to the Pacific, she would like to see its activities extended to Tonga and Fiji, particularly. When thanking both organisations on behalf of 1 he" Government and the services. Miss Lambie also alluded to the excellent standard of conduct that had been maintained by the girls.
