FIRST PHASE ENDED BRITISH DELEGATES BACK IN LONDON LONDON, July 25. The first phase of the Berlin Conference came to an end today after another meeting of the Big Three this morning. The three British leaders, Mr. Churchill, Mr. Eden, and Mr. Attlee, left by plane for England, and arrived in the middle of the afternoon. They have returned so that they can study the result of the General Election as it is made known tomorrow. Later today Mr. Churchill went to see the King and gave him an account of how the talks are proceeding. It is not expected that the Berlin Conference will be interrupted for more than a couple of days, as the British leaders are expected to return to Potsdam some time on Friday. President Truman is to take advantage of the interlude by seeing something of the American army in Germany. Tomorrow morning he is i leaving Berlin for Frankfurt. The Supreme Commander in South- ; east Asia, Admiral Mountbatten, has arrived in England from Potsdam, ! where he conferred with the combined chiefs of staff and had discussions with the Big Three. Other arrivals from Potsdam were Admiral Sir Andrew Cunningham, Field-Marshal Sir Alan Brooke, Sir Charles Portal, and Field-Marshal Alexander.
