BAD HARVESTS IN JAPAN

NEW YORK, July 24

Tokio radio reported that the wheat and barley harvest is 20 per cent, below normal, due to extraordinarily bad weather. It also forecast that the North China wheat crop would be poor. The Domei news agency said that this would be offset by a 10 per cent, increase in the production of other grains, and of sweet potatoes.
