SCARLET FEVER
OUTBREAK IN AUCKLAND
P.A. AUCKLAND, July 23. The chairman of the Auckland Hospital Board. Mr. Moody, at a meeting tonight, stated that extra accommodation would have to be found to cope with scarlet fever patients. "There has been an alarming increase in scarlet fever cases in the last few weeks," he said. "It started in Christchurch, and the Health Department has been awake to it. The infectious diseases block at the Auckland Hospital is overcrowded and the deputy medical superintendent assures me the position is fdesperate. He asks for extra accommodation." There are at present more than 50 scarlet fever cases. TRUST DIVIDEND. P.A. SYDNEY, July 23. The Trust and Agency Co. of Australasia report a profit of £34,316..
