BUTTER AND CHEESE
GUARANTEED PRICE REVIEW P.A. WHANGAREI, This Day. An announcement that a committee is now sitting in Wellington to explore the guaranteed prices of butter and cheese was made by the North Ward representative on the Dairy Board (Mr. A. J. Murdoch) to the Northland dairy conference today. Mr. Murdoch said it was hoped that as-a result of the deliberations increases would be forthcoming to cover the increased costs to the industry. When inquiries were made today it was stated that the discussions referred to by Mr. Murdoch apparently would be in accord with standard stabilisation procedure to make provision for increased costs where they are proved. Canadian veterans are being discharged from the Canadian Services at the rate of 30,000 a month. Canada has maintained that a minimum of 150.----000 men must be returned to Canadawithin six months following YE' day, with 30,000 monthly thereafter., till all eligible Servicemen are home.
