STOP-WORK MEETINGS

DUNEDIN, This Day.

P.A. DUNEDIN, This Day. Stop-work meetings were held today in five footwear establishments, a total of about 290 employees being involved.

The national secretary of the union, Mr. W. C. McDonnell, said afterwards that the dissatisfaction was with "the award and not with the employers' decision on the matter. He added that the employees' decision would be made on a Dominion basis.

The factories were • kept open during the afternoon, but none of, the employees returned to work.
