PATRIOTIC QUOTA
Less than a third of the money required for the Wellington Metropolitan Patriotic Committee all-piirpose quota of £73,059 has yet to be collected, reported the secretary, Mr. Vincent Ward, at a meeting of the committee yesterday. This quota included the suburban sick and wounded appeal objective of £15,000, of which £13,000 had been collected. Mr Ward praised the work of the Mayors of Lower Hutt and Petone (Mr. J. W. Andrews and Mr. H. Green) for the work of the patriotic committees of which they were chairmen. Lower Hutt, he said, had exceeded its? 1945 quota of £4000 by £1000 and Petone its £1700 objective toy i £300;
