P.A. There is nxtie iiKeiuJuuu uuw mai. the Grand National Meeting will have to be postponed because of the snow. An inspection of the Riccarton racecourse by members of the committee of the Canterbury Jockey Club this morning showed that of the 18 inches of snow which fell during the recent storm' only three inches remain as the result of a thaw which set in late yesterday afternoon. Conditions are much improved and indications are that the meeting will definitely open on August 4.
