CLOSING OF SCHOOLS IN VIENNA
Rec. 10.50 a.m. LONDON, July 22. Vienna radio announced that undernourishment, combined with a heat wave, had caused the municipal council to order all preparatory and secondary schools to be closed down because it was felt that under the circumstances profitable results could not be expected from teaching.
The Soviet Ambassador in Rome has informed the Italian authorities that about 100,000 Italian prisoners of war are located in camps, round Moscow and that others are employed as farm hands. .
