A pensioner, Mr. Thomas Smith Walton, married, 64, was attacked by an unidentified assailant in an apartment house in Grafton Road at 2 o'clock yesterday morning and was admitted to hospital with head wounds, states a Press Association message from Auckland. His condition is satisfactory. Mr. "Walton heard a noise in another room and went to investigate Entering the room in the dark, he was struck with a blunt instrument. The assailant escaped.
