THE NAVY'S WEEK

DEPTH CHARGE ATTACK

A spectacular part in assisting to raise funds for victory will be taken tomorrow by men of the Royal New Zealand Navy, when they will hold a show opposite Clyde Quay Wharf, beginning at about 12.15 p.m. The wharf will be open to the public, and the Navy will demonstrate a harbour rescue of a "body" dropped by parachute from an R.N.Z.A.E. plane, a masked depth-charge attack on a suspected submarine by motor-launch transports, and smoke-screen laying by M.L.T.s At Victory Corner the Ford Motor Works concert party will give a performance from about 12.15 to 1.30 p.m. This is "Salute the Sailoi*" -week in the Victory Loan campaign, and the demonstration to be staged by the sailors will follow as nearly as possible actual service conditions: It will be a splendid opportunity for the public to see the speed of the M.L.T.S, which .have performed so gallantly in theatres of war.
