ANOTHER SHELLING

ENGLISH COASTAL AREA

Rec. 10.10 a.m. LONDON, Sept. 3. Coastal towns in south-eastern England, including Dover, had a shell warning just before 1 p.m. today, when German long-range guns in the Calais area fired several * two-gun salvoes across the Straits of Dover. The enemy guns again opened up after a half of an hour's lull, firing frequent two-gun and four-gun salvoes. The Germans appeared to be carrying out more demolitions on the French coast this morning, when explosions were heard from the direction of the Boulogne area. V . No flying bombs have fallen in England from the afternoon of September 1 up to noon today. There, has been no enemy air activity over Britain since two pick-a-back planes came over on the night of September 1.
