UNOFFICIAL STATEMENTS
Various unofficial statements have recently been made regarding prisoners of war, says a statement from the Prisoners of War Inquiry Office, which asks relatives and next-of-kin to ignore them. Although' made in an honest attempt to enlighten the public they are unfortunately causing much unnecessary worry, and the office makes an assurance that the Government is keeping in constant touch with the position regarding all prisoners, ■and immediately anything is known regarding their possible release and future movements, or anything affecting their personal parcels, it will be announced by the Government or through the Prisoners of War Inquiry Office. The office again requests copies of letters from Sfalag XVIII A, and particularly from working' detachment TNTo. 180 G/W.
