Final games in. the first io\ind of the Wellington B grade billiards championship resuited:—J. Beggs (Resent) beat W. Bell (WorkIng Men's Club), 250-171; L. Xotley (Commercial Tray.) beat B. Davles (Mlramar R.S.A.), 250-140. Best break. 25 by Beggs Tonight's games are: At 7, D. Brvca v. H Robinson (Victory); at 8, K. Jones (Upper Hutt) v. A. F. Bell (Fire Brigade).
Wellington experienced, as in July, a dull month in August, with 37.d hours less bright sunshine than the • average, 2.45 inches more rain than is normal, a mean temperature for the month which was .4 degrees below normal and—the only pleasing feature -—a drop of. 23 miles in the average daily run of wind. The month was the dullest August since/ 1941. The figures for temperature, wind sunshine, and rain are as follows:— Mean daily maximum temperature, 51.3 degrees; mean daily'minimum, 42 5 degrees; apparent mean temperature for the month, 46.9 degrees; mean daily run of wind. 185 miles; total hours of bright sunshine, '104; rainfall, 6.63 inches- .
