BAND'S SUCCESSFUL YEAR
+ uTh l e i a-£ mjal meeting of the Band of the Ist Battalion, the Wellington Regiment (City of Wellington's Own) showed that the band had had a very successful year, and fulfilled all engagements required of it. Parcels had been sent to all members overseas. The treasurer's report showed that the nuances of the band were in an excellent position. Colonel A. L. George officer commanding the Ist Battalion' in addressing the band, spoke of the good work of the band during the year, and Captain W, F. Sellen, camp commandant, also spoke of the excellent performance put up by the band in the 'Retreat" on" Anzac Day. The election of officers resulted as follows: Bandmaster, Lieutenant H. Baker--s?u .P^sident, Lieutenant R. h' JNieholl; band patron, Mr. J. I. GoldfxT a' i-P/; secretary, Staff Sergeant w a. Baker; treasurer, Musician W. Lidstone; librarian, Corporal H. H inglis; assistant librarian, Musician N taglis; band committee, Corporal J Boiton, Lance^Corporal R. Anderson, Musicians M. Putter, G. Hewitt, W. Calvert and W. Watkins; band organiser, « A Keesing; delegates to Brass Ban<* Association, Lieutenant H. Baker and Mr. B. Keesing.
