RENEWED SEARCH

MISSING PLANES FROM FIJI P.A. AUCKLAND, August 31. Representations to the Mayor of Auckland (Mr. Allum) that the search for the two aircraft reported missing on a recent flight from Fiji be resumed have been conveyed to the Minister of Defence (Mr. Jones). Mr. Allum said that, notwithstanding the exhaustive measures already taken, the Minister had readily agreed that a further search should be made, and he understood this was being carried out. The representations to the Mayor were made by the next-of-kin of the 14 Royal New Zealand Air Force personnel who were in the aircraft. Ten of the next-of-kin live in Auckland.
