VICTORY NEARER

DAWN OF NEW ERA

The following cablegram from the Prime Minister of Australia (Mr. Curtin) has been received by the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser in reply to the message sent by Mr. Fraser to mark the fourth anniversary of the war:—y ' "Your inspiring message expresses our common purpose, and with pride and gratitude the Australian Government reciprocates your regard for the co-operation that has marked the war effort of our two Dominions. We look forward with confidence to the victory now becoming clearer and nearer as representing the beginning of a new era for mankind, in which peace on earth will mean more than ah abstention from violence and will in fact find the nations united in constructively working to the true welfare of people everywhere. Our deep regards."
