ACCIDENTALLY DROWNED

"There is a strong likelihood tfiat he was swept off the rocks," said the Coroner (Mr. W. G. L. Mellish) at an inquest >. yesterday afternoon upon Gordon Anderson Roberts, 42, builder, whose body was found floating in the sea near Moa Point on August 20. The Coroner found, that death was due to accidental drowning.
According to the evidence Roberts took his truck to the beach at Moa Point on August 19 and it"was found there next morning, partly loaded with shingle. ■ Roberts's body was found in the water nearby. Roberts had been rejected for Army service and released from the Home Guard because he was told he had a bad, heart, but a post mortem examination showed ho disease '■■ of the heart. He was interested in Nature study and it was presumed that he had'gone out on the* rocks to examine something which attracted his attention -when he was swept into the sea by a roller. He was a poor swimmer.
