NEW OFFENSIVE
BEGUN BY RUSSIANS
ON CENTRAL DONETS FRONT (By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright.) Rec. 11.30 a.m. LONDON, September 3. While the full flood of the Russian advance continues to be against Smolensk, Bryansk, and Mariupol, the Ger-. man news agency has announced that yet another Russian offensive has begun. The news agency said: "The long-expected Russian offensive on the central Donets has been in full swing since early, this morning."
Dealing with the front as a whole, Reuters Moscow correspondent declares that enemy centres of resistance are being by-passed. Nazi defences are being reduced one by one as the Russians press home their offensive. '
Moscow radio states that the battles of the Donets are shifting gradually nearer the centre of the basin. (This seems to confirm the Berlin assertion
