PERSONAL MATIN

Lieut-Colonel A. Cowles, who has been chairman of the Wellington War Memorial Carillon Society and a member of the Board of Trustees of the National Art Gallery and Dominion Museum for the past nine years, has resigned those positions on account of failing health. At a meeting of the executive of the Carillon Society, it was decided to place on record the society's sincere appreciation of the valuable services Colonel Cowles had given during his long period of office, and he was elected a member of the executive. Mr. E. E. Muir was elected to fill the positions vacated by Colonel Cowles.

Mr. John Ince has been appointed a member of the Manawatu Licensing Committee.
