A POLAR EXHIBITION.

It was not the wintry weather of late but the loan of an Antarctic medal that inspired the Turnbull Library to stage its current exhibition of Polar material. The medal is the property of Mr. A. N. Pepper, who served as midshipman on the relief ship Morning, 1902-1904, and with it he has deposited the map showing the discoveries made by different expeditions from 1901 to 1914. Another map gives an idea of the extent of the whole Antarctic continent, and there are on view also books, photographs, and other souvenirs of numerous expeditions, both Arctic and Antarctic.
