GOOD-WILL TOUR
BRITISH A-A UNIT IN U.S.A.
NEW YORK, August *31. A British composite anti-aircraft battery received a rousing welcome today when it paraded Broadway to the City Hall, where the Mayor, Mr. La Guardia, General Sir John Dill, and other high military officers and diplomatic representatives reviewed the 346 officers and men. "••All are veterans .of the battles of London, 'Malta, and North Africa. A total of 100,000 persons lined the kerbs, and ticker tape was showered down from the skyscrapers as the lorries, guns, and searchlights passed by. Mr. La Guardia thanked the men "for all you have done and are doing to make possible the continuance of our way of life." He said it was the God-given courage of the people of Britain that had saved the world.
The battery, is visiting New York for a good-will tour and an exchange of techniques with American artillery experts.
