WELLINGTON SUBURBS
At Cashmere Avenue School on Monday evening Mr. W. A. Veitch, National candidate,, held the attention of .a lax-ge audience. He laid special stress on the unfair taxation levied by the present Labour Government. He pointed out that civil servants who paid contributions to a pension fund of their own were also compelled to pay social security tax for a benefit they could not receive. He also stated that people who earned under £300 a year paid far more into social security than all other, classes of the com-, munity. Both these. injustices would be remedied when the National Party occupied the Treasury benches. Mr. D. F: Lagan occupied the chair, and on the motion of Mr. H.. W. Kersley, seconded by Mr. G. A. Osborne, a vote of thanks and confidence was carried unanimously. :i -; :
