DISABLED MEN

VICTORIA LEAGUE PARTY

The entertaining once a month of disabled men of the 2ndN.Z.E.F. has become one of the Wellington Victoria League's main activities, and it is certainly : the activity from which the members derive the most pleasure. The third of these gatherings was held in the league rooms last night. The 2nd N.Z.E.F. Association arranged for the transport by the Red Cross Transport Corps of the men from and to the mospitals. A most appetising hot savoury meal, which Mesdames W. H. Gledhill, Austin B.riggs, and R. Caughley had spent all day preparing, was served immediately all the guests had arrived, and then they were entertained with items from the league's concert party's show, community singing, and competitions. There was an abundance of home-made sweets and cigarettes supplied by the members, and. before the party ended supper was served. As usual, it was a most informal homely gathering, and the room was gay with lovely spring flowers sent from ' Martinborough by Sister Hinchman, who served in Greece and Crete, and arranged by Mrs. R. B. Gibbons. Mrs. Ay McKinnpn was the convener of the party, and the guests were welcomed by Mrs. J. A. Doctor, the president of the Wellington • league.
