CAPTAIN G. PRIEN

SANK THE ROYAL OAK

(Rec. 12.45 p.m.) LONDON, May 23,

A Berlin communique says that a U-boat under the command of the

famous Captain Gunther Pricn has not returned from its last cruise and its loss can be presumed.

Captain Prien commanded the submarine which penetrated Scapa Flow and sank the Royal Oak. He also sank the Arandora Star.
