The film is noteworthy for the fine performances of Gilbert Roland and Fred MacMurray. As the man who knocked oui John L. Sullivan in the 72nd round. Albert Dekker lends humour to many otherwise grim situations with which the film is well stocked. A brillians new "find' is the child star Betty Brewer. The fact that the cast spends most of its time living amidst the finery of the properties of a New York opera house provides both a novel plot and some amusing scenes in the associate feature, "Dancing on a Dime." The programme is completed by the 11th chapter of "Junior G-Men," and some items by Finlay Robb at the Wurlitzer organ.
