STIGMA REMOVED

COMMITTEE PLEASED

Mr. C. Nattrass said today that he and the other members of the "rank and file" committee (Messrs. E, Higgins and W. F. Sherwood) wished to express their appreciation for the way in~ which they had been supported by union members and others, in their efforts to uphold the honour of Wellington carpenters as tradesmen and loyal citizens and to thank those members who had put in their names for nomination. The action taken last night had definitely removed any stigma created by the objectionable motion they-had rescinded, and they called upon carpenters throughout New Zealand to follow the action taken by the Rongotai carpenters in dissociating themselves from the anti-war resolution.
