SHOOTING ACCIDENT

VICTIM MAY LOSE LEG

(P.A.) INVERCARGILL, May 21

Keith Robertson, aged 19, medical student, Dunedin, suffered serious injuries in a shooting accident at Riversdale, on Tuesday. With a companion, John Young, school teacher, Christchurch, Robertson was crossing a disused bridge across a creek when Young slipped on the frozen boards. The gun he was carrying accidentally discharged and Robertson, a few feet in front of Young, received the full charge in his left knee. His condition today was reported to be satisfactory, but it is possible that the leg will have to be amputated.
