MINE AND DREDGE RETURNS

Big River Gold Mines, Ltd., gold returns for March and April were:—Battery: 117 tons ore Crushed for 78oz 5 dwt melted gold. Cyanide: 3loz 17dwt bullion recovered from 200 tons sands treated. Estimated value £840. In addition 22cwt of concentrates were saved, valued at £35.

Snowy River dredge returned 4840z for 128 hours from 27,000 yards. Argo return totalled 37bz for 127 hours from 11,000 yards. The following gold returns are for the first half of May; Barrytown, 1550z for 232 hours from 99,000 yards; Kanieri, 3710z for 130 hours from 78,000 yards; Arahura. 7440z for 270 hours from 139,000 yards.

Clutha dredge returned 490z |or 125; hours. Gillespie's Beach Reports no washup last week. Okarito dredge returned 330z sdwt for 124 hours.

Nemona return for the week-ending May 17 was 240z for 112 hours and 10,200 yards.
