Special forecast for Wellington:-—

Light and variable winds, tending northerly tomorrow and slowly freshening over the weekend.

A continuance of fine and mild ,weather. '

The general forecast for the Dominion as a whole is for light to moderate and variable winds, with northerli.es gradually prevailing from Cook Strait southward and later freshening. The weather will be fair to fine generally, with cloud gradually increasing in the west of the South Island. The nights will be cool, but the days mild.

The anticyclone covering the northern Tasman Sea and the New Zealand area has remained almost stationary. Light south-westerly winds have predominated, and when these freshened somewhat yesterday afternoon there were a few light showers in places. Otherwise the weather has continued fine generally. There were a few light inland frosts last night, but day temperatures have been rising.

Auckland's weather yesterday was cloudy to overcast with a few light showers, but the three other centres had fine weather, although in the two southern cities it was cloudy at times. All four centres had moderate southerly breezes, but Christchurch in the afternoon had its usual sea breezes. At Kelburn yesterday 12.4 hours of bright sunshine were recorded, with temperatures ranging between 62.4 and 44.8 degrees.
