THE LATE MR. J. S.

HIDDLESTON

Of the deep regard held for Mr. John Sydney Hiddlestom there was striking evidence in the very large attendance at his funeral yesterday afternoon, business concerns and sports organisations being widely represented. • A service at St. Andrew's Church-was conducted by the Rev. J. S. Murray, of Kelburn, who also officiated at the Crematorium, Karori. The chief mourners were the widow, Mrs. John Groves, of Bush Grove, Wairarapa, daughter; Mrs. J. F. C. Hiddleston, of Palmerston North, mother; Mrs. Frank Reynolds, of Masterton, sister; Mr. T. C. Hiddleston, of Palmerston North, brother; Mr. John Groves, son-inrlaw; Mr. Paterson, of Dunedin, father-in-law; and Mrs. Gibson, of Invercargill, sister-in-law.

The pall-bearers were Messrs. H. Pettit, W. F,. Stilwell, W. A. Baker, John Groves, H. Boulton, and E. Palliser. Beautiful floral tributes were sent by people and organisations in various parts of.the Dominion.

Those present to pay their last respects included Dr. E. Luke, the Revs. E. O. Blamires and. Mackenzie, Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Welch, Mr. and Mrs. N. Henderson, Mr. and Mrs. A. J. Nimmo, Mrs. W. A.
