EASING OF TAXATION
WORKERS IN N.S.W.
DEFICIT OF £1,539,000
SYDNEY, October 16.
Delivering the Budget tonight in the New South Wales Assembly, the Treasurer, Mr; A. Kichardson, estimated that the deficit for the year would be £1,539,000. He explained that there would be no additional taxation, but remissions of taxation aggregating £500,000 would be made to persons with dependants whose salaries did not exceed £4 5s a week, and they would be' exempt from the payment of wages and social services tax.
Travelling concessions and other privileges being granted to men in the fighting services and in training for home defence would cost the Government in the current year about £850,000.
