OFF THE AIR

SUDDEN FADING OF GERMAN

RADIO

LONDON, October 16.

The German radio station Deutschlandsender went off the air tonight after the announcer had said that London was heavily bombed last night. The sudden fading-out of a German radio station is usually an indication that the R.A.F. is in the neighbourhood. The Rario Berlin euphemistically describes these delays as being due to "certain technical conditions/ It is now reported that German wireless listeners are to be rationed in their evening programmes because of these conditions. •.•_■•..:-.- - - .-.;-.;■ .
