ACCOMMODATION FOR SOLDIERS
(To the Editor.)
Sir, —It is distressing to hear that so many soldiers are forced to sleep out at the weekend. There is no need for this state of affairs. The Smith Family has the addresses of some hundred private persons who are willing to entertain the men over the weekend. Notices are posted in the various community halls at Trentham, giving the soldiers full information about obtaining hospitality for the weekend. All they have to do is to post a letter to Hon. Secretary Smith, P.O. Box 1300, so as to reach the office by Thursday morning and arrangements will be made. Incidentally the Smith Family would like further offers of hospitality, so that no soldier would be forced to spend the night in the open.—l am, etc.,
HON. SECRETARY SMITH,
