Advice was received at a meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union's management committee last night. on the subject of the Miramar Rugby Club's appeal to the New Zealand Union. "My committee,", the New. Zealand Union's letter stated, "is of the opinion that no appeal to this.union can be made under rules 43 and 44 of your union's constitution, as the subject matter of the appeal comes under your rules for club contests. The Miramar Club contends that your union has.not carried out a resolution governing club contests, which was passed at the annual meeting of delegates in 1939, therefore the appeal should be made to your own delegates." If was decided to inform the Miramar Club of. the decision and ;to return the appeal deposit. ' •.■■.-■■, The statement of accounts from the Trentham Army-Wellington match showed a ; balance after payment of expenses of £187. Half of this had been forwarded to the Wellington Patriotic Fund and'the rest went to the union's accident fund. It was reported that the net profit in the Services match conducted by the New' Zealand Rugby Union for patriotic purposes was £267.
