Dairy statistics released by the Commonwealth Statistician disclose that the average consumption of milk a head of population in Australia is only about half a pint a day. About 13.8 per cent, of Australia's milk production is used in its natural form for human consumption and other purposes, 79.5 per cent, to make butter, 4.2 per cent, for cheese, and 2.5 per cent, for condensed and powdered milk. |
