The Dominion Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Palmerston North, reports a full yarding of pigs, a total clearance being made at satisfactory rates. Top price for weaners was 30s for a choice line, while porkers sold as high as £3 10s each. The usual keen demand for poultry prevailed., heavy hens realising to 5s each, while good W.L. hens sold to 4s each. Exceptionally high prices were received for vegetables, cauliflowers realising to 21s per bag, with a corresponding good demand for green peas, new potatoes, and lettuce.
