BRITISH PAINT EXPORTS

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, October 13. One of Britain's export industries which is maintaining its trade despite the loss of Continental markets, and thus is contributing to Britain's wartime effort, is that of paint manufacture. Firms in this industry ship overseas paints, varnishes, and enamels to the value of about £5,000,000 a year.

They have succeeded in sanding aboard during the first half of this year more exports than in peacetime, not only in value but in quantity. Paints, varnishes, and lacquers made with synthetic resin to resist tropical conditions are in particular demand.
