WELLINGTON SOUTH CIRCUIT

The Rev. Walter Parker presided at the quarterly meeting of the Wellington South Methodist Circuit. He was supported by Mr. E. C. Feltham, 8.A., and Miss K. Boxall, circuit stewards. The financial statement revealed that though the collections for two Sundays had been used for other purposes, and £21 had been donated to the trust fund, there was still a credit balance on the quarter's working, leaving a general credit balance of £49 6s 7d.

The Rev. Walter Parker was given a unanimous invitation to labour in the circuit for a sixth year.

Mr. Feltham spoke at length on the progress of the work since Mr. Parker came to the circuit. .. .

In thanking the circuit for its hearty invitation, Mr. Parker stated that his ministry would conclude in April, 1942. He also spoke of the joy he had in the circuit work and also with the people of the church.

It was decided to send Christmas boxes to Trinity Methodist men in the Forces, both overseas and at home. ■

Mr. S. Trevethick was appointed representative to Synod and Mr. H. Smith delegate to Conference in Auckland in February.

Mr. C. Green reported on overseas missions and Mr. R. Wright on home missions.

Mrs. H. Smith reported on the ladies' guild and the missionary auxiliary. A special vote of thanks vas passed recognising the valuable work of Miss Boxall and Mr. Feltham in their capacity of circuit stewards.

November 18 was chosen for the quarterly meeting and local youth council to meet to discuss the Conference local youth report.

The Sunday school anniversary will be held on the second Sunday in November and a retiring collection for the Masterton Orphanage will be taken on Christmas Sunday.

Votes of sympathy were passed with the relatives of the late Mr. Isaac and the relatives of the late Mr. Kuchen.
