MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Hikamate Hoani Ahitana, a labourer, aged 25, appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, and was convicted and sentenced to three months' imprisonment with hard labour on each' of two charges of theft, sentences to be cumulative. "You. seem to., have made up your mind to be a criminal, judging by your list," said the Magistrate.
James Aloysius Devon, a pensioner, [aged 49, who pleaded guilty to obtaining credit, a taxi fare, by fraud, was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within three months, a condition being that he make good the fare. Herbert O'H-lloran, a labourer and soldier, aged 36, was fined £2 for using obscene language, and similar amounts for failing to leave licensed premises when requested and assaulting Constable E. Burnett in the execution of his duty.
