LITTLE CRIME

MANAWATU'S GOOD RECORD

(Special to the "Evening Post.")

PALMERSTON N., This Day.

The absence of serious crime in Palinerston North, and district was favourably commented upon in the Supreme Court by Mr. Justice Johnston. There were only four cases, for trial, which, his Honour said, was very satisfactory for such a . large district. Throughout the year the amount of crime had been diminishing in the district, and that again was satisfactory.

At- the last session of the Supreme Court the presiding Judge had no criminal cases of any kind, while on the occasion prior to that there had been only three cases, his Honour continued. It was satisfactory also to find that none of the cases for the present session involved personal injury or violence.
