DRIVER SENT TO GAOL

AUCKLAND, This Day.

Sentence of seven days' imprisonment was imposed on John Vincent Price, aged 51, coal merchant, for intoxication while in charge of a motorcar on the Blockhouse Bay Road last night. He pleaded guilty.

The police said that after a collision with another car Price's car was pursued and Price was taken to the police station. A doctor certified that Price was intoxicated.

Price's driver's licence was cancelled for a year.
