HOME GUARD
ENROLMENT BEGUN
Enrolment of members of the Home Guard and of the Emergency Precau-
tions Scheme began yesterday, Volunteers should note that if they unwilling or unable to offer their ° TT ,-,,., services in the Home Guard they can enrol for service in the E.P.S
A meeting of the controllers of the! various units of the E.P.S. will be held on Thursday evening and the names and duties of the various units will be announced. On completion of the posting to units arrangement will be. made, after consultation with the local sub-com-mittees, for the establishment of training centres to suit the convenience of members of the Home Guard and the E.P.S. units.
A strong committee has been set up at Kelburn to enrol members of the Home Guard and E.P.S. Depots are open at the Kiosk between 8 a.m. and 9.30 a.m. and 5 p.m. and 6.30 p.m., and at Bethune's Auction Room from 12 noon to 1 p.m. daily.
The chairman of the Thorndon subcommittee is Major P. de B. Brandon, not Major A. de B. Brandon.
